Articulate Storyline 360 – Calculate Course Resolution Based On Features Selected – Player Size
In this blog we will look at how to calculate the course resolution or the player size based on the features that we include in the course player.
There are following elements in a standard course player in Articulate Storyline 360:
- Player frame,
- Title,
- Top bar tabs,
- Seekbar and
- Navigation buttons
Each of these elements occupies certain pixels in the published output. Let’s look at each of them:
Player frame | Width | Height |
Player frame (with or without player features) |
+20 pixels | +20 pixels |
Title |
+23 pixels | |
Top bar tabs |
+24 pixels | |
Navigation buttons (play/pause button, seekbar) volume controller, closed captioning button |
+51 pixels | |
Sidebar |
+240 pixels | |
Total |
260 pixels | 118 pixels |
The player adds up to 260 pixels to the width and up to 118 pixels to the height.
Example:
Choose slide size in the default mode settings as 720 X 540. For example, if you incorporate player frame, navigation buttons and sidebar to your course then the overall dimension would be 980 × 611.
You can see the table below for breakdown.
Player frame | Width | Height |
Slide size |
720 pixels | 540 pixels |
Player frame |
+20 pixels | +20 pixels |
Navigation buttons (play/pause button, seekbar) volume controller, closed captioning button |
+51 pixels | |
Sidebar |
+240 pixels | |
Overall Published slide size |
980 pixels | 611 pixels |
That’s how you can calculate the course resolution before you begin the e learning courseware development.
